...as I hosted oh so many months ago now, when the world was green! for Bilbo's birthday (and Frodo's of course as well)...
We had food that hobbits prefer, served in a rustic way, and had crackers as they enjoy at their birthday parties (not on the above tables yet...), and of course there were gifts for the guests, as hobbits also do. There was also a food-related game I invented that featured hobbit facts and fun, but I realized the child attendees were too young this year so the game was postponed, as this is meant to be an annual event. A 1-year-old was our unsuspecting Mayor of Hobbiton for one night, as she was closest of the guests in height to a grown hobbit, and another night a 3-year-old measured to almost exactly the right height so of course he was the honorary Mayor that night....Lastly, my husband and I, the proprietors-for-a-few-nights of the Green Dragon, only accepted assistance from people who were of age hobbit speaking, which meant a grand total of only one!
